Squirrel Infographic
Philip R. Newcombe
The Canada Squirrel Infographic was created to offer free educational material on the Eastern Gray Squirrel population found across Canada. The published version narrows its focus on Ontario and British Columbia. Illustrated signage was created with the intention to install at parks and other areas with noticeable wildlife activity, a embedded QR code available for pedestrian interaction. Signs are made from 6mm PVC sintra board, capable of long term outdoor installation. The backing has a strong adhesive that can be applied to any surface securely.
This infographic was presented at the annual STAN Conference 25′ virtual event, alongside other ECU students, and Professor Poh Tan; presenting STEM through the arts: How Gamification and StoryMaps Play a Role in Science Education Outreach.
At this time there are ongoing collaborations and project expansion with local education centres.
