When a long-lost ancient painting is unveiled to the public, a notorious thief hatches a bold plan to snatch it before its grand reveal. But as the heist unfolds, unexpected twists threaten to jeopardize her carefully laid scheme.

Artist Statment
We approached this story with the intention of representing our Chinese culture in our final-year film, blending both traditional and modern aesthetics to create a unique visual narrative. The process challenged us in many unexpected ways, pushing us to develop new skills and perspective we hadn’t originally anticipated. In many ways, our creative journey mirrored that of our main character, Jade, who sets out to steal a mythical scroll but quickly finds herself caught in a situation far more complexed than she imagined.

Wenxi Dou
Wenxi Dou was born in China and received her university education in Canada. She is a Vancouver-based 3D artist with a lifelong passion for digital design. Wenxi studied 3D Computer Animation at Emily Carr University of Art + Design and has been pursuing a career in the game industry. She also works as a freelance artist, creating character concepts and custom designs for international clients.

Jingjing Fang
Jingjing Fang is a Chinese storyboard artist and animator based in Vancouver. She studied 3D Computer Animation at Emily Carr University of Art + Design, where she focused on storytelling and visual development. Rooted in both traditional Chinese aesthetics and contemporary animation practices, her work often explores cultural narratives through dynamic visual storytelling. She aims to continue creating emotionally resonant stories and pursue a career in the animation or game industry.

Yushan Li
Yushan Li was born in China and received her university education in Canada. She is a Vancouver-based 3D artist with a deep passion for modeling. Yushan studied 3D Computer Animation at Emily Carr University of Art + Design and is currently focused on leveraging 3D animation technologies as a bridge between design and technology. Her work explores the future of interactive experiences through innovative visual storytelling.

Caishi Su
Caishi Su is a 3D Rigging Artist based in Vancouver, with a strong enthusiasm for the technical side of the 3D world. She is constantly expanding her skills and knowledge, driven by a natural curiosity and a love for solving complex challenges. Currently, she is focused on expanding her Python scripting skills to develop custom tools and explore a wider range of rigging possibilities. From building unique deformation systems to automating workflows, she is always eager to dive into the unknown and bring creative ideas to life through smart, technical solutions.
