Artist Statement
Storytelling through subtle movement, body language, and expression has always been a huge part of my animation style and overall artistic practice and I place great emphasis on the effect that careful pacing and tiny details have on an overall theme. I am especially interested in narratives that center around women and the power they wield by simply existing in spaces not meant for them. Having always been drawn to women of folklore in particular, and the refuge they often find in the monstrous, this story of a siren on the hunt perfectly encapsulates what kind of art I want to make and what stories I want to tell.
