“A fleeting dream”, is a photographic series that centres around the temporary friendships I’ve encountered throughout my 20’s. In this self portraiture photograph, I wanted to capture myself in a quiet field, taking a moment to reflect on the friendships that I once thought would last forever, but are now simply just a “memory”, that only lasted for a short period of time. Although the friendships I’ve had, no longer exist with certain people, I know the memories I have created with them are something I don’t want to forget and still want look back on happily, as it was a moment in time I enjoyed those simple moments being within the presence of those I once called, “friends”. I know that somewhere out there, wherever they are, I will always care and continue to cherish those fond memories…

Angela Camarillo (She/Her) is a Filipino Canadian Photographer born and raised in Vancouver, BC. Her works explores and centres around the human personal experience. Whether that be relationships revolving around friends, family or even herself.
“I think that there’s always something interesting to talk about when it comes to creating a body of work that has this small glimpse of my life that I get to share with my viewers, and maybe even getting a sense of relating to the work within their own personal lives. Being able to express these experiences and emotions through photographs, has helped me in ways that I never really thought I could creatively do.”
