Reimagined Memories – An illustration series by Phoenix Richards

This series of illustrations is a visual exploration rooted in personal memories, two from my travels and one from a neighborhood I lived in Burnaby, BC. Each of these memories left a lasting impression on me and my goal wasn’t to recreate them as they were, but instead to reimagine them through illustration and transform comforting moments into new visual narratives.

Through this transformation, I aimed to bring my experiences to life not as I saw them initially but instead as they felt – reinforcing what can linger in the mind long after an experience ends.

Hi! My name is Phoenix. I’m a French-Canadian illustrator based in Vancouver, BC. I specialize in nature-themed illustrations, often incorporating characters as well. With a background in both traditional and digital media, I love incorporating vibrant colors and textures to create scenes that feel both calming and intimate.

When I’m not drawing, you can find me trying out new recipes, making clay miniatures or with a crochet hook in hand.
