Synopsis

Duration: 6:45 min
Medium: 2D Animation

Two friends — Issy and Calev — are skipping class as they normally tend to do. However, as their day progresses, glitches start to appear, interactions become progressively unusual, and for some strange reason, no one seems to notice.

Artist statement

What I find beautiful is often not real, and perhaps that is why I turn to animation.  It’s the closest I get to a living fantasy. With “Cotton Clouds, Like Always”, I wanted to create an amalgamation of all the things I found beautiful — paintings, anime, and worlds built from the imagination. However, something I realized while conceptualizing this film was that, in order to capture this vision, I must learn to be efficient. Thus came the implementation of puppet rigs, 3D assets, and Japanese animation techniques. With these tools, I made my world inspired by beautiful things.
