Journey to Elsewhere

See it On Campus: Level 2

Journey to Elsewhere is a multi-sensory installation that explores the connection between scent and memory, using the theme of seasons as a shared yet intimate framework. The experience is anchored by a series of handcrafted scent jars, projected motion graphics, and immersive sound. Together, the elements invite visitors to engage with smell as a powerful trigger for memory recall. Each scent acts as a portal, awakening personal associations and emotional landscapes unique to the individual. Through this intimate act of smelling and feeling, the project becomes an immersive experience — one that blurs the boundary between the physical and the emotional, the past and the present.

Journey to Elsewhere creates an immersive experience by using three primary sensory triggers—Vision, Sound, and Smell—to evoke personal memories through a conceptual design approach.

Key Visual + Sound
The motion graphic paired with ambient audio representing each season, aiming to build a more immersive environment that helps evoke personal memories.

Scent Experience Jar
The collection of 20 scented jars designed for intimate, sensory interaction. Each scent invites the participant to slow down, inhale deeply, and be gently transported elsewhere — into memory, imagination, or feeling.

Pamphlet
The pamphlets hold personal scent memories and stories collected from others — small, intimate reflections on how smell can transport us through time and feeling.

Bookmark
The bookmark is a small takeaway for visitors — a keepsake to carry a piece of the experience with them.

Packaging
The packaging is designed around the idea of preserving the scented jar — either as a way to hold onto a memory, or to gift it as a meaningful keepsake to someone else.

Carry these moments gently with you — small echoes of elsewhere, held close, enjoy the journey.
