“Brie,” a mouse living in the countryside, moves to the city to study and rediscover the taste of a cheese filled with memories of childhood.
Synopsis
Longing to relive the taste of a cheese filled with family memories, a small mouse leaves the countryside for the city. There,Brie meet Odi, a kind Canadian beaver who becomes Brie’s roommate. As they explore the world of cheese, they begin to reflect on the true meaning of their dreams. Inspired, Odi offers support, and together they nurture those dreams.
Artist Statement
This film reflects my journey as an international student adapting to life in Canada. Facing language barriers, financial pressure, and moments of doubt, I often questioned my decision to study abroad. But looking back, every struggle helped shape who I am. I now see those hardships as meaningful steps in my growth, and I dedicate this animation to international students everywhere who are still finding their way.

Hi! I’m Hyunkyung Lee (Po Lee), a Korean visual development artist and illustrator based in Vancouver. I studied 2D Animation at Emily Carr University of Art + Design and was born in Seoul, South Korea. I have experience working as an art instructor and have also contributed to commercial game illustrations. I enjoy going to my favorite place and drawing random still life or Portraits.
